Dani "Ansky" Stern Says Goodbye to Poker

Throughout the years, Dani "Ansky" Stern has made a pretty good living whilst playing poker, either as a high-stakes online player, or competing at live and/or online tournament events. However, just recently last week, he has now decided to announce the end of his career as a poker pro, and on Friday October 13, he wrote on his Twitter page:

Checking his online records, Dani Stern's biggest victories came from his tournament escapades, having won in live events a total of $3,695,729, and on playing online he won $2,121,417, most of which he won by playing on PokerStars under his username supernova9.

One would think he's doing pretty well, but Stern's online cash game results are completely different from the victories he had mentioned above. As "Ansky451" on Full Tilt, he lost $297,648, and as "supernova9" on PokerStars, he lost a further $1,439,781. Unfortunately for Stern, he has failed to acquire a single winning year whilst playing his favorite high-stakes PLO cash games on the website.

For instance, on PokerStars Stern lost -$58,300 in 2014, then -$240,722 in 2015, followed by another loss of -$227,947 in 2016. And that's not the worst of it. This year, Stern's losses have started to escalate at a pretty exponential rate, making him shed a further -$777,373 from his bankroll. What's interesting is that most of Stern's losses in 2017 have been from playing PLO against "BERRI SWEET", who has been on a roll on PokerStars, winning $1,439,170 this year, and overall he's won almost $2 million since joining the site.

Stern's utter failure after going against BERRI SWEET was a known fact amongst his Twitter followers, with Joseph Cook responding to his retirement post: "Post the ev graph v Berri Sweet as your last gesture please gov. You retire as a nobel top 20 all time online poker player. All the best."

Stern took this response with good humor, by posting a small icon showing a steeply sloping graph; but generally, the tweets he received were mostly those of well wishes, and many have thanked him for his efforts in the poker community over the years, including defending the rights of players.

In 2009, Stern entertained the poker community via his own TV reality show named "2 Months, 2 Million", along with his poker friends Emil Patel, Brian Roberts, and Jay Rosenkrantz.
