2018 WSOP: Event #38: $10,000 Seven Card Stud Championship won by Yaniv Birman for $236,238

The winner of this year's WSOP Event #38 $10K Seven Card Stud Championship is Yaniv Birman, outlasting a player field of 83 to win his very first gold bracelet and a sweet sum of $236,238.

The 35-year-old business owner from Los Angeles, California, emerged victorious despite a tough final table comprised of four WSOP bracelet winners, including two-time winners Ben Yu and Jesse Martin.

Not only is this Birman's first WSOP title, this was actually his very first live tournament win ever! He primarily plays cash games in the Los Angeles area.

Birman said after he won, "I barely ever play tournaments; it was fun. I got here on Monday, and this was the first tournament I signed up to."

After two days of play, the field was whittled down to 8 players, with Birman in the chip lead, and Jesse Martin in 2nd place in chips.

In the end, it was Birman and Martin who were battling for the top spot.
