Isleta will hold a grand opening celebration and ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19 for “Time Exposures,” a special exhibit detailing the history of the Pueblo of Isleta. The event, which is open to the public, will feature traditional foods and dances.
The exhibit tells the story of the Pueblo of Isleta through photographs and artifacts. Visitors will learn about the traditional activities on the pueblo through Isleta songs and stories recorded as early as 1904, according to an Isleta news release.
“‘Time Exposures’ speaks to the essence of traditional Puebloan life,” Pueblo of Isleta Gov. J. Robert Benavides says in the release. “This is a story we’ve eagerly shared with the country, and now we’re very proud to bring the exhibit home to New Mexico.”
