Santa Monica PAL Hosts Poker Tournament Fundraiser


SANTA MONICA, CA — The Santa Monica Police Activities League is hosting their second annual poker tournament to benefit local kids on Saturday, February 8. The event will begin with check-in, dinner and bar at 5 p.m., poker lessons at 5:30 p.m. and the official first hand will be dealt at 6 p.m.

"We look forward to some stiff competition at this year's Poker Night," Eula Fritz, Director at Santa Monica Police Activities League, said. "This is a fun way for the community to get involved with PAL and to help generate some much-needed funds for our Santa Monica youth."

The benefit poker night will take place at the Santa Monica Moose Lodge at 1600 Ocean Park Boulevard. A $125 buy-in includes $2,000 in chips, dinner and a drink ticket. There are $50 re-buys available until the first break. For the non-poker players, entry is $50 and includes dinner and a drink.

The poker tournament's final table will include prizes such as a 50-inch, 4K LG Television, a dinner for two at The Fig restaurant, a one-night stay at The Huntley Hotel with dinner at The Penthouse restaurant, four VIP Los Angeles Clippers/Lakers or Kings Tickets with VIP Parking, two tickets for Los Angeles Lakers vs. New Orleans Pelicans game, a four pack of tickets to Pacific Park on the Santa Monica Pier along with a bottle of wine, and more.

La Vecchia Cucina will sponsor the Italian dinner, and desserts will be sponsored by The Huntley Hotel.
