Stormzy's birthday party with no social distancing left guest 'uncomfortable'

Stormzy was in a celebratory mood over the weekend – to the point that coronavirus concerns and social distancing measures were thrown out the window.

According to reports, the Big For Your Boots rapper enjoyed a cake and gambling fuelled party as he celebrated turning 27-years-old on Sunday.

And it seemed to be a lavish event, with free flowing alcohol, star guests, and major gambling – with the celebrations said to have run into the early hours.

According to The Sun, Stormzy – whose real name is Michael Ebenezer Kwadjo Omari Owuo Jr – had a big gathering at his home as opposed to in a bar or club.

The Sun reports the chart topping star had a bar set up at his home which was “flowing with booze all night.”

While guests included fellow UK rap icons Krept and Konan, AJ Tracey, and Dave.

A source told the publication: “Stormzy wanted to let his hair down and invited over all of his closest friends and family. There was loads of booze and food and it was all super-laidback.

“His family organised balloons and a cake. Later in the night there was this big poker game and people were really not holding back on their bets.”

However, according to the source, the group may have been taking a slight gamble with their health, amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The insider alleged: “But it was a bit uncomfortable with so many guests there. There was definitely way more people there than are allowed, especially later on, when we were all packed inside.”

Current Government advice on gatherings to be compliant with social distance rules are for a groups larger than six people to be from two households or support bubbles.

The Government also advise: "The more people you have interactions with, the more chance the virus has to spread. Therefore, try to limit the number of people you see – especially over short periods of time.

"The risk of transmission is also higher indoors, so you should take extra care to stay as safe as possible."
