Meanwhile at the World Series of Poker

Over at the World Series of Poker Team Pros were in action, with Daniel Negreanu going deep twice over the weekend.

Negreanu finished in fourth place in Event #13, a $1,500 Seven Card Razz event, ultimately won by American Rep Porter, but a finish (if a little premature) worth $42,000.

Meanwhile in the 2-7 Lowball Championship Negreanu finished in 14th place, picking up another $15,464. But it was not Negreanu getting the headlines so much as team mate Jason Mercier, who leads going into the final day of the competition.

Mercier leads the final nine the only player with more than a million chips and in pursuit of what would be his fourth career WSOP bracelet. If that happens it will be against some serious opposition. PCA winner Mike Watson is in second place and Stephen Chidwick in third.

We’ll have news of Mercier’s progress when we get it.
