Bengals Rookie Robbed At Gun Point While Playing Poker

You know how the NFL holds the rookie symposium after the draft, where they list all of the things you should and shouldn’t do in the NFL? They talk about how you are supposed to stay in and party in the club late or how you should properly manager your money. Or as Cris Carter suggests, how you should hire a fall guy. It seems as if the NFL may have left out the part about not gambling in a motel with people that you don’t know.

Bengals rookie cornerback Corey Tindal really could have used the advice on Sunday night, when he was robbed at gunpoint by these two people he was playing poker with. We’ll assume one of them suffered a pretty bad loss on the river card. You know something like only having one out and the guy hit it. According to the Herald-Dispatch, Tindal was hit in the head twice with the barrel of the gun and the two players that Tindal didn’t know, stole $2,400, along with $1,600 worth of phones and someone’s rental car keys.

Hasn’t the Gilbert Arenas/Javaris Crittenton taught anybody anything about gambling? And then gambling with people that you don’t know late at night at Super 8 Motel? When you say it out loud it sounds like an absolutely terrible idea.

Tindal was undrafted out of Marshall University and signed with the Bengals on a non-guaranteed $1.62 million salary. He better hope this incident doesn’t cause him to get cut, because that would be the ultimate bad beat.
