Bengals rookie cornerback Corey Tindal was a victim of an armed robbery Monday in Huntington, W.V., the Herald-Dispatch in Huntington reported.

The report said Tindal was playing poker at a Super 8 Motel with a friend and two other men he knew only by nicknames when one of the men took out a pistol and ordered Tindal and his friend to lie still and give up their valuables. Tindal was hit over the head twice by the barrel of the pistol, the report said.

Police estimate that more than $4,000 in cash and other items including cell phones and rental car keys were taken.

The NFL’s security office figures to have some questions for Tindal as local police go through their investigation.

Tindal gave up his final season at Marshall to enter the NFL. He signed with the Bengals after going undrafted last April.
