€50,000 Super High Roller | 2016 PokerStars.es EPT Season 13 Barcelona

Andreas Goeller raised and picked up two callers including Stanley Choi in the big blind. Choi bet the {J-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{4-Clubs} flop and just initial raiser Goeller called. The {Q-Diamonds} turn was checked through before the {7-Spades} then fell on the river.

Choi bet 43,000 and Goeller called to see the former turn over {7-Clubs}{2-Clubs} for trips sevens and the latter mucked.

EPT Malta winner Niall Farrell opened to 12,000 from middle position and Fedor Holz defended his big blind. The flop came {J-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{4-Hearts} and Holz check-called a 15,000 bet from Farrell.

Holz checked the {10-Diamonds} turn to Farrell, who fired a second barrel of 45,000. Holz thought for two minutes, then announced a check-raise to 158,500. The Scotsman took a while before coming along with the call.

With the pot already up to almost 400,000, the dealer fanned out the {7-Spades} on the river. Again, Holz took a while before coming to a decision, this time electing to check. Farrell took his time as well, and finally shoved all in, which was for Holz' remaining stack.

Holz, who nearly had 380,000 behind, sighed and sank back in his chair to come to a decision. He took around a minute before sliding in two blue 5,000 chips, indicating a call.

"Good hand," nodded Farrell, who showed {K-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} for king high. Holz showed {J-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} for two pair, scooping the monstrous pot in the final minutes of the day.

The clock has been stopped and five more hands will be dealt for tonight.

Anton Astapau moved all in for his last 47,000 from early position and Tobias Reinkemeier, who recently entered, called from one seat over. The action folded to Christopher Kruk and he reraised all in from the button. Reinkemeier eventually folded and the pair tabled their cards.

Astapau: {A-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}
Kruk: {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}

The board ran out {5-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{9-Spades}{4-Spades} and both chopped it up with a straight. "So sick, how bad do I run?" asked once it was all done and dusted.

On a flop of {6-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} Jason Mercier check-raised Jean-Noel Thorel's 20,000 continuation bet to 77,000. Thorel called, and called Mercier's 100,000 shove on the {Q-Clubs} turn as well.

Mercier turned over {J-Hearts}{6-Hearts} for a flopped two pair from the big blind, but he needed to improve as Thorel tabled {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds} for the nuts with a redraw.

The river {8-Hearts} was a blank and Mercier, the sole PokerStars Team Pro playing today, made his exit with under half an hour of play left for the day. Thorel meanwhile, is the owner of one of the biggest stacks in the room.

Igor Kurganov raised and received one caller in Francisco Benitez. On the {8-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{3-Spades} flop, both players checked.

Kurganov also checked the {2-Hearts} turn, Benitez bet 21,000 into a pot of around 30,000, and Kurganov called.

The {J-Spades} river completed the board and Kurganov checked. Benitez bet 41,000 and Kurganov check-raised all in for around 120,000. Benitez quickly called with {2-Clubs}{2-Spades} for a set of deuces, while Kurganov briefly showed his {A-Clubs}{A-Spades} and headed to the rail.

Adrian Mateos raised and Fedor Holz from one seat over as well as Niall Farrell in the big blind called.

On the {9-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{2-Clubs} flop, Farrell checked, Mateos bet 18,000 and Holz called in the cutoff while Farrell folded.

After the {5-Hearts} turn, Mateos bet 70,000 and Holz called before the {3-Hearts} river completed the board. Mateos pushed forward his stack of big chips, for more than 350,000, and that had Holz easily covered. The German wunderkind counted his stack, amounting to 174,500, and eventually called after a few minutes in the think tank.

Mateos flashed {A-Spades}{8-Hearts} for a bluff and Holz doubled with the {Q-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for just top pair.

Nick Petrangelo raised from the cutoff to 12,000 and a jovial Aidyn Auyezkanov announced "25!" and threw out a single green 25k chip. Petrangelo called.

The flop came {8-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} and Auyezkanov bet 30,000. Petrangelo calls. The turn was the {k-Clubs} and Auyezkanov bet 50,000. Petrangelo called again.

The river was the {j-Diamonds} and Auyezkanov cheerfully declared "All in!" Petrangelo held his head in his hands as he pondered his decision.

"Again?" asked tablemate Dario Sammartino, perhaps indicating that this isn't the only time that the Kazakh has been all in recently.

"Why not, it's just a game!" said Auyezkanov, as he reached into his pocket and got his phone out. Snapping a picture of the board, he sat back down at the table.

Petrangelo folded the {2-Clubs} face up saying to Auyezkanov in a pained expression: "Just, please don't show..."

In two hands, both John Juanda and Bryn Kenney have been eliminated from the same table.

Hand 1

Holding {A-}{Q-}, Christoph Vogelsang raised under the gun. Action folded around to John Juanda in the big blind, who shoved 65,000 all in with {7-}{7-}. Vogelsang called and improved his hand to send Juanda to the rail.

Juanda won the EPT Main Event in Barcelona last year, banking a whopping €1,022,593, and will no doubt be back in the Main Event later this week to defend his title.

Hand 2
Julian Stuer raised to 12,000 from late position. Bryn Kenney responded with a three-bet to 38,000 from the big blind. Stuer then took his towering stack of green 25,000 chips and slid them forward, putting Kenney at risk. The American wasted no time in calling off the remainder of his 280,000 stack.

Julian Stuer: {A-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}
Bryn Kenney: {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}

Stuer paired his kicker when the board ran out {5-Spades}{4-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}, eliminating Kenney from the tournament.
