Coles pushes for $1 pokies bet limit
Supermarkets and hotels operator Coles wants to place $1 bet limits on poker machines in its hotels but has been rebuffed by the pokies makers.
Coles, owned by conglomerate Wesfarmers, says it wants to conduct a trial of $1 bet limits to see if it will improve responsible gambling practices but poker machines makers have declined to participate.
'We still want to proceed with the trial and hope to work with the manufacturers to address any hurdles they may identify to conducting a trial of $1 bet limits,' Coles said in a statement.
