2018 WSOP: Event #28: $3,000 No-Limit Hold�em 6-Handed won by Gal Yifrach for $461,798
Gal Yifrach, born in Israel and now living in Los Angeles as an entrepreneur, has defeated an entry field of 868 players to secure his very first WSOP bracelet and a nice sum of $461,798 at the 2018 WSOP Event #28: $3,000 Six-Max No-Limit Hold’em event.
This is the biggest score to date for the 31-year-old entrepreneur, whose biggest previous cash came from a win in the 2017 WSOP Circuit Bicycle Casino $3,250 buy-in NLHE event for $90K.
Yifrach said after he won, “I’m feeling pretty good. I’m feeling great. You know, coming into this event, I didn’t expect, obviously, to win. Everybody has hopes. Everybody is hoping to get very far. I was fortunate enough to get there…But you know, when you run good, you play good as well. It comes hand-in-hand.”
Yifrach entered the final table of this event in the second chip lead, behind the only WSOP bracelet winner James Mackey.
The event was scheduled to have a winner in 3 days, however, the decision was made on day 3 that the remaining 3 players should call it a night. Yifrach had 6,965,000, Mackey had 3,100,000, and Hasson had 1,960,000.
In the end, Gal Yifrach bested his other two opponents to emerge as the top winner of this event.
Yifrach considers poker more like a hobby than a profession, but nevertheless he has a very solid poker portfolio. He already has 8 WSOP and 5 circuit cashes to his name, but he sure is appreciative of winning his very first WSOP gold bracelet. He said, “You don’t make a final table every tournament. I was fortunate enough and am happy my family and girlfriend came to support me. I’m very happy.”
