Woolworths admits to profiling poker machine players

Woolworths has admitted to profiling poker machine players and targeting gamblers with free drinks to encourage betting. The supermarket giant has released findings of an investigation into the allegations raised earlier this year by Federal MP Andrew Wilkie, confirming staff at some of its hotels had detailed profiles about gamblers' personal lives and betting behaviour. Woolworths chairman Gordon Cairns says the practices are below the company's expectations and contrary to its policies and have now been stopped.
