Police 'won the last hand' after group discovered drinking and playing poker

Three men have been reported for breaching lockdown rules after they were found drinking and playing poker.

Officers from North Wales Police's Wrexham rural unit said the group had met up over the weekend to play cards.

They were reported for coronavirus-related offences after refusing to go home. Current lockdown rules prohibit all gatherings and social events.

The unit joked in a Facebook post: "I guess we won the last hand!"

Police forces in Wales have expressed concern that some people are getting 'lockdown fatigue' and are pleading with everyone to stick to the guidelines.

Since lockdown measures began in March, police forces across the country have handed out hundreds of penalty notices to people breaking the rules.

It was revealed last week that North Wales Police had handed out 70 fines in total to those breaking the rules. But it said the vast majority of people are complying.

Dyfed Powys Police said it has issued just over 600 fixed penalty notices.

Last week officers for South Wales Police were called to numerous house parties, barbecues and family gatherings.
