Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has hit out at the way Manchester United's fixtures have been scheduled and believes his team have been dealt an 'unfair schedule' in the final two weeks of the Premier League and he’s going to have to play his cards well as they chase down a Champions League spot.

Having drawn 2-2 with Southampton on Monday, United have three games over the next seven days — starting at Crystal Palace tonight, before returning to London three days later to play Chelsea at Wembley.

Meanwhile, Chelsea beat Norwich City in the only Premier League match on Tuesday night, and will have 48 hours more rest than United ahead of the weekend Cup tie.

"There is a concern, obviously, that they will have had 48 hours more rest and recovery than us," Solskjaer said in his pre-match press conference.

"It’s not fair. We spoke about a fair scheduling going into this restart and, of course, it isn't. But I have to think about Thursday, winning that one, focusing on that one, and then pick up the pieces after that.

"We've not really played every three days but we definitely will now. The next two weeks will be hectic but then again we’re fit, very fit - our lads have not felt as fit as this for years, I’m sure.

"It’s not going to be a problem and a concern for us but 24 hours, 48 hours is a big difference at this time so we've not been handed four Aces, to put it that way, for the last two weeks. But we’re going to have to put on a Poker face and play the cards well."

United and Chelsea both play on the same night next week in their penultimate league fixtures of the campaign when United host West Ham and Chelsea head to Liverpool.
