Casino Insider: Morongo’s poker room is about to reopen, but it will be different

Morongo Casino, Resort & Spa announced Tuesday, Aug. 18, that it was reopening its poker room on Friday, Aug. 21. The poker room had been closed since the casino’s reopening on Friday, May 22. While the region’s casinos have been reopened for months, many of their poker rooms have stayed closed due to the pandemic. However, this week, Morongo Casino, Resort and Spa will reopen its poker room, but there are some changes and new safeguards in place. Read more.

Beyond Southern California…

Las Vegas could be a hotbed for the spread of the novel coronavirus, an investigation from nonprofit journalism organization ProPublica has found. The piece says that cell phone data shows 26,000 cell phones on the Las Vegas strip over a four-day period in mid-July and a portion of those phones showed up in every other state in the U.S. mainland except for Maine.
