Borgata's 'The Poker Room' to reopen in Atlantic City

MGM Resorts International's mgm Borgata Hotel Casino U Spa in Atlantic City is reopening "The Poker Room" will open on Oct. 21, with 30 socially distanced tables. The Poker Room was closed earlier this year a results of the COVID-19 pandemic. All of the poker play in The Poker Room will be live cash games on seven-handed tables, which will have polycarbonate barriers. Masks will be required in all public areas, and spectators will not be permitted in The Poker Room. "We are happy to welcome back our loyal players as we reopen Atlantic City's market-leading East Coast poker destination," said Melonie Johnson, Borgata's chief operating officer. MGM shares fell 1.0% in afternoon trading. They have dropped 37.2% year to date, while the SPDR Consumer Discretionary Select Sector ETF xly has rallied 22.5% and the S&P 500 spx has gained 7.5%.
