EastEnders star gets abuse from fans over Ruby and Stacey story

EastEnders star Louisa Lytton has revealed that she has been receiving abuse from fans over her character's storylines.

Louisa's character Ruby Allen has recently been involved in a storyline which has seen her conspire against the Slater family, following her marriage to her former best friend Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner)'s ex-husband Martin Fowler (James Bye).

Ruby recently paid somebody to violently attack Stacey after she found out that Stacey had insulted her and she has also teamed up with Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) to drive the Slaters out of Walford, setting Kush Kazemi (Davood Ghadami) up in a rigged poker game that resulted in him losing the Slater house.

But actress Louisa has revealed that some fans confuse her for her character and she has been receiving abuse online as a result.

Louisa shared a screengrab on her Instagram Stories of a message which called her names and complained about what she was "doing to Stacey".

Louisa wrote that this type of abuse is a "daily occurrence", adding: "It's not real Folks" and sharing a cartoon of a to-do list which listed "Be yourself" and "Be kind".

Ruby and Suki's actions will have huge consequences for Kush, who is desperate to save the Slaters' home after his disastrous poker game.

Kush's best mate Martin will begin to feel hugely guilty that he stood by and watched Kush lose his home and he also can't work out whether Ruby was involved as she's keeping tight-lipped about it.

Suki is also under suspicion as her son Kheerat Panesar (Jaz Deol) – who recently spent the night with Stacey – questions whether her poker skills were all above board during the game.

Kush will finally come clean to Stacey that he has developed a gambling addiction and that he needs help to overcome it, but Stacey has other things on her mind too as she tries to work out how she can save her family's home before Suki kicks them out.

EastEnders airs Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays on BBC One.
