2018 WSOP: Event #30: $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha won by Ryan Bambrick for $217,123

It's a lucky Saturday (June 16) for Ryan Bambrick as he won his first WSOP gold bracelet in the 2018 WSOP Event #30 $1,500 buy-in Pot-Limit Omaha. The 30-year-old poker player from New Jersey outlasted a player field of 799 to win $217,123.

Bambrick has been a day trader for seven years, but most recently he decided to put that aside for a while so that he can focus on playing poker. He has played online poker semi-seriously for 15 years already, but after he experienced a winning streak online recently, he opted to visit Vegas for the summer. This is already his fourth cash at the 2018 WSOP, but this time it's more special, since it was his very first final table finish (and he even got first place).

Bambrick said after he won, "I was just trying to play my best game the whole time. And whatever happens, happens. I was really focused on trying to win. I wasn't really concerned about the pay jumps. I was just trying to win a bracelet, to be honest with you."

Bambrick entered the final day of the event as the chip leader with 12 players left.

On to the three-handed play, Bambrick became the short stack, but quickly bounced back to take the lead. He defeated Timothy McDermott's AClubJSpade4Heart3Club with his 9Club7Club7Diamond3Diamond as the board revealed 9Heart9Diamond3Heart2Club8Club. Even though McDermott made a flush, Bambrick's hand was better.

Bambrick had a 2-to-1 lead going into heads-up play with Ryynanen. He swiftly furthered that lead to over 5-to-1 before the final hand was dealt. The final hand was as follows:
Bambrick: QHeartQClub8Diamond3Spade

Ryynanen: JHeart10Diamond7Spade6Heart

The board showed 9Club7Club4Spade4DiamondJSpade, which makes Bambrick the winner thanks to his pair of Queens and a pair of fours, whereas Ryynanen onlys

made a pair of Jacks and a pair of sevens.
